Sumibi Kappō Shirosaka
A fine dining elegant seasonal tasting menu, in a small chic Michelin-starred restaurant. Most of you sit around the bar, watching the chefs expertly create your beautiful dishes. There is a private room behind where Japanese businessmen were entertaining some Western colleagues. It made for quite an intimate dining experience, where we couldn’t help but chat to our neighbours and compare our trips and tasting notes. The food was wonderful, a beautiful array of Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients were used. A fun surprise at the end was an old-school ice machine being out, which provided shaved ice topped with fruit syrup and fresh fruit.
